Former President of European Council presents his view for a post-Brexit Europe
The Club, Agion Omologiton 97, Agioi Omologites, 1080 Nicosia, Cyprus
On 21st May 2019, we are delighted to invite Mr Herman van Rompuy, Former President of the European Council and Former Prime Minister of Belgium, to The Club for an evening dedicated to understanding how Europe can benefit from Britain’s exit from the European Union.
Whether we like it or not, the Brexit saga continues to occupy the order of the day without appearing to provide any more clarity than when Article 50 was envoked. So, what better way to try and cut through the noise than hear from someone who knows the ins and outs of the European Union and what the future really looks like for the remaining 27 Member States.
Appointed as the first full-time President of the European Council under the Treaty of Lisbon, His Excellency, Herman van Rompuy will discuss: What will change? What will stay the same? And, importantly, which opportunities have opened up for other member countries as a result of the decision of the UK to leave the European Union?
