Nicosia, 20 January 2019 - As we enter 2019, world leaders are faced with a political and economic landscape increasingly characterised by uncertainty and popular turbulence. It is in this environment, that they will come together next week in Davos to discuss the world’s shifting architecture. From Brexit, to de-globalisation, to disruptive technologies, no issue will go overlooked, making it the highlight of the global business community’s calendar.

Phoenix Leaders’ latest discussion “Behind closed doors: a view from Davos” will offer those unable to attend with unique insights into the behind closed-door session.

The evening will provide an intimate forum for open discussions on all aspects of the World’s most exclusive conference and will be led by Davos-attendee Jules Chappell OBE, the UK’s youngest-ever Ambassador and a Member of the Mayor of London’s team, responsible for telling London’s post-Brexit story around the world

The session will also consider the risks and opportunities that face Europe’s largest financial and technology centre, London, in the coming months. Importantly, Jules will look at what Brexit really means for Cyprus and the London-Cypriot community.

Jules, who was named World Economic Forum “Young Global Leader” in 2016, said “As global relations continue to be torn by divisive policies and clashing ideals, Davos provides the perfect stage for the business community to come together to find a pragmatic path that helps to tackle those problems that unite us. As a former Diplomat, I am always fascinated by different perspectives and I am hugely excited by the opportunity of exploring this year’s themes with the audience at The Club.”

This event marks the latest in a series of carefully curated events at The Club, which was founded by Valentina Kislaya, CEO of Phoenix Leaders, as Cyprus’ first private Members’ Club for the Cypriot business community.

“Behind closed doors: a view from Davos” will take place at 6pm on 30th January 2019 at The Club, Nicosia. Contact ask@phoenixleades.co.uk for ticket sales.
